What is the difference between manual and machine film?

Manual film is formulated to be applied by hand or with a dispenser, with lower pre-stretch; machine film is designed for stretch wrappers and takes much higher pre-stretch, which cuts film use per pallet.

What is pre-stretch and why does it matter?

It is the stretching the film undergoes before being applied to the load. The higher the pre-stretch, the more usable metres you get from each reel and the lower the cost per wrapped pallet.

What film gauge do I need?

It depends on the weight, shape and stability of the load. A regular, light pallet takes thin gauges; a load with sharp edges or a very heavy one needs more thickness or a reinforced film.
